100 Things

You have probably heard of people doing this exercise - writing out 100 things they are grateful for in their lives. I don't believe I have ever done that - so I thought I would give it a try.

100 things seems like a lot - and I thought it would take some time. Surprisingly - it went very quickly and I could have kept going.

It seems many of us tend to focus on what we don't have, when in reality we have so much. Of course, things change over time and some of the material things on the list may change. Hopefully the really important things won't.

Here is my list of the first one hundred that came to my mind (in no particular order)..

100 Things to Be Grateful For:

1. Being alive

3. Being healthy
4. Being able to exercise
5. Being an American
6. Living in a Democratic society
7. Freedom
8. Having enough money
9. My Wife Jenny
10. Married for 19+ years
11. Good friends
12. Great friends

14. Nieces

18. My in-laws (most of them anyway)
19. Our dog Jeffrey (Monkey boy)
20. A good job
21. Working in the healthcare field
22. Making a difference in people’s lives
23. Outstanding mentors throughout my career

25. A home that is paid off

28. Baseball (and partial season tickets)

31. College degree (without any loans thanks to my parents)
