Sara Khara - Senior Advisor
Sarabpreet Khara (Sara) began her career in medicine and completed three years of medical school education at Saint James School of Medicine in Bonaire, Northern Antilles. From there, she transitioned into Hospital Administration and completed a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, Master of Healthcare Administration from Bellevue University, and an Administrative Fellowship in Hospital Administration from Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) in East Meadow, New York.
It was at NUMC where Sara began her healthcare management career holding positions as Assistant Administrator of Neurosurgery and Hospital Administrator of Surgical Services. From here, she took a position as Director of Neuroscience Institute at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida and later held two Executive Director of Neuroscience positions at University Health System in San Antonio, Texas and West Jefferson Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sara is a visionary leader and her knowledge base has a heavy emphasis on strategic alignment, clinical integration, program development and growth, improving quality outcomes, decreasing costs, operational initiatives, vendor and contract negotiations, marketing and outreach including moving market share and increasing physician referral bases.
She is an active member in the community with her local church, is currently serving as a member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as well is part of the Career Advancement Committee of the Southeast Louisiana (SELA) chapter of ACHE, member of National Association of Public Hospitals (NAPH), member of American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA), is a 2016 March of Dimes Honoree raising awareness and funds to support research, education, and pre-natal care for premature babies, fundraises for American Heart/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA), for National Association of Epilepsy Foundation (NAEF), and was a past Board Member of Alamo Area Parkinson’s Disease Society (AAPDS).
With Sara’s educational background and experience in many realms within healthcare, both clinically and administratively, we feel she will be a great fit working as a Healthcare Consultant at Essential Healthcare Management.
